Hi All.. This is off the topic. needed some info for those staying in Bangkok/ Thailand.. We are travelling to BKK tomorrow and have been looking for flights to Koh Samui from our country websites. We remember booking tickets at 2000 odd Bhat.. now each ticket is showing approximately 6000 Bhat.. is it generally that much.. Can anyone please connect us with a local travel agent from Bangkok who could help us through this we would like to fly out on the 28th. Thank you

1) Yes, if you leave it till a couple of days before you fly it's going to be more expensive 2) Bangkok Airways has a monopoly on the BKK-Koh Samui route so they can charge whatever prices they want 3) Oil crisis is hitting here 4) Why isn't the ferry to Koh Samui an option?

Try flying to Surat Thani instead and take ferry across to Samui

This weekend Bangkok and Pattaya is the elections and most of the night life is closed so yes I would think people are traveling else wear and koh samui not so shocked, if you want cheaper fly to Surat and then get a ferry over that’s what the locals do with the lowcosts
